Before we venture into this post, let me just say this one thing: there are three types of people-
the ones who do not work hard enough, the ones who know when to work and when not to, and the ones who could as well gamble on their lives to do something, which might not be exactly worth it.
the ones who do not work hard enough, the ones who know when to work and when not to, and the ones who could as well gamble on their lives to do something, which might not be exactly worth it.
Those who have worked hard enough for something which does not match the definition of important, hello! This is for you. Others, well, you can give it a read while working hard towards your goal.
Here, we have Rashmi, an ambitious student. Rashmi worked extremely hard to get good marks in an exam. Sadly, she got a bit less than what she had expected.
“I didn't get what I expected. Why am I still living?”
Little did she realize that instead of having a negative approach to this, if she would have worked harder to appear for the exam next year, she would have succeeded. Or maybe, taking up some alternative to that exam would also have been a better approach.
She didn't realize that certain things are temporary. The only thing that remains constant is your ability to work hard.
Let's meet Kiran. She had a friend, but it was a no-brainer that she hadn't really been on good terms with her.
Kiran had an argument with her friend and had decided not to talk to her again. However, now she wanted to mend things up.
“She is my friend and I cannot live without her.”
Getting steer-clear of arguments, Kiran felt that things are back to normal. However, after a few days, they ended up fighting again. The same fight over the same issue.
That's when Kiran realized that certain things are supposed to happen a certain way. That there has to be a level of understanding, a sense of compatibility between them, a support through everything, or else, it has to end where it was.
We human beings are designed in this way. We don't pay attention to when we need to let go of things. We don't realize that certain things aren't everlasting. We work hard for such things by ignoring ourselves, and then we feel as if life ends with it if it doesn't work out the way we had wanted it to. And then, one day, we move over it as if it wasn't something to fret over in the first place.
Remember the times when you felt that a particular work needs to be completed or you won't survive? Remember the time when you couldn't complete it? Remember you questioned your survival motive? Remember, you survived all of that.
Remember those days when you felt your life depended on certain people? Remember that you realized that something was missing, maybe understanding, maybe support, maybe compatibility? Remember feeling heartbroken because you felt you cannot let go of them? Guess what, you survived everything!
Now, hopefully, I didn't encourage someone to stop working hard for something just because one faces failures. I meant to say that life doesn't end with failures. That it's okay to face failures. That it tells you where you stand. That you experience aspects of life that can make you sad, remorseful, regretful, and still walk out of all those feelings.
It's so normal to run into problems all the time and feel helpless. It's fine to move away from things and people if you do not find it to be right for you. It's okay to fail in doing things and coping with people, to fail in doing what you considered more important than your survival.
You know there was a time when you have survived those failures before and you know that there will be a day when you would survive all those failures if they happen again, too.
All that you need to do is wait for that one day. All you need to do is learn from those failures. And all you need to do is work through those days to be where you want to be.
Keep
Smiling! 😊
