10 Resolutions You Can Decide From

Resolutions are one of the best ways to decide on things you want to surely do the rest of your life. A lot of times, we do make resolutions but we don't really follow them. The key to following resolutions till you achieve success is to decide on really small goals which would bring in great impacts in your daily life.
Here is a general list of things which might be your resolution for this year. I hope that it helps.
1. Stop procrastinating. If you are anything like me, you procrastinate a lot. For everything. And also, you know how it is harming you. You want to stop that habit, too. But you push that over for later, too! New year resolution is going to be an awesome occasion to finally decide on to become less of a procrastinator. Difficult it would be to follow, yes, but not impossible.
2. Become kinder. See. A lot of people are already in lots of problems that you have no idea of. Let's try making the world a better place by being kind to people around us.
3. Read More. The more you read, the more intellectual you become. The better the books you read, the more you would want to read. So make it a resolution to read as many good books as you can.
4. Saving more money. If you never have a decent amount of money in store, even after getting adequate pocket money/salary, and still you dream of buying something expensive, you need to save money. That beautiful dress in the mall or that lavish restaurant shouldn't stop you from saving money. Cut down expenses wherever you can.
5. Be more organised. If your things are all over the place, it is one of the reasons why you won't be able to work efficiently. Why not decide to be tidier? Keeping your surroundings clean is important, and save me the efforts to explain it's importance. Being more organised would also mean that you need to keep your day organised, which would lead to a tidier work. Being more organised would also mean to keep your thoughts organised before reacting to situations.
Maybe, you need to take that up as a new year resolution?
6. Start taking more responsibility of situations. Things will not always happen the way you would want. That should not give you a reason to blame things on others, nor should that give you a reason to give up on your plans. Resolve to accept flaws in things, in everyone, in yourself. Resolve to work harder for yourself.
7. Getting over your insecurities. Everyone is insecure about something or the other. What if, things don't work out a certain way? What if someone does something I wouldn't like? What if I fail to do something? Get over your insecurities. Don't overthink about things that are at the most “likely” to happen.
8. Good habits like getting up early in the morning, sleeping early, eating healthy, drinking more water, etc. ClichΓ©, I know, but I also know that basic good habits make a great impact. What I mean to say is take care of yourself more than anything and anyone. You need yourself more than anything.
9. Leaving bad habits, like drinking, smoking, excessive caffeine intake, etc. Bad habits are a pain because we feel we might never get rid of them. The good news is, we always can make or break habits. So why not break some bad habits? Again, let's take care of ourselves effusively. Let's take a baby step towards loving ourselves more by deciding to break the bad habits.
10. Working towards the goal. All of us have a goal, that we had decided we would work on “whenever we would have the time to do it”. Maybe a new business venture, or a new hobby to work on, or learning a new language. Anything. Let's start working towards that goal with the advent of this new year.
Surely you might want to have other resolutions, but everything boils down to the fact that you need to follow them.
In the end, it's only a new year. The year changes overnight, and not you. Everything you decide to do is going to take its own sweet time. All you can do is work towards your resolution and be someone better by the end of next year.
A very happy new year in advance! May you keep your resolutions till you achieve perfection.

Not-So-Expensive Things To Gift

If you want to know the best of all items to be presented as meaningful gifts, this post is for you to read!
A few days ago we spoke of all those things that should not be given as gifts. I know that list was huge and kinda contained all of those things that are commonly given as gifts.
So, I am sure you might be thinking about what should you gift to someone? Now we are going to find out all those things that did not make it to that list, because they are the ones you should give!
    1. Personalised Items- You know those pendants or bracelets or keyrings or mugs or what-not, with engravings and sorts done, especially for a person? Yes, those are awesome as gifts. Personalised gifts have been winning hearts since its very existence. The best part of gifting personalised items is that you can use your own creativity to renovate simple items into memorable stuff.
    2. Handmade Gifts- If you are someone who is artsy enough, this is for you. As much as you can say that handmade gifts do not come in much use, I would still say that they are thoughtful. The fact that you used up your time and the resources that you had to create something beautiful is what people remember. Paintings, or sketches or cards, especially made for that occasion might light up someone's big day.
    3. Books- Books are great gifts because of various reasons. Being a book-lover, I can assure you that for most book-lovers, getting books as gifts is one of the most wonderful things in this world. And for those who aren't really avid readers, gifting quality books might kindle in them the want to read more and more, which is great!
    4. Watches- The absolute classic in this list. While a really nice watch might be way too expensive, simple ones are great. Whatever the occasion, the recipient of the gifts would generally be more than happy to receive it.
    5. Clothes- With so many beautiful clothes out there, it would be great if you could find the perfect one for someone. This is one gift which is not your best bet if you don't know if the dress would fit or not, or if the recipient would like it or not. If you can overcome the two conditions, clothes can be great gifts.
The list was quite small, but knowing preferences of the receiver would increase your choices for sure. These are going to be the best 5 when preferences aren't known. If you have any other gift idea, it would be absolutely great to let me know in the comment section below!

8 Things You Should Rather Not Gift

I promise this entire post is going to make sense, but you will find lots of “why”s here and there. Couldn't help it. Bear with me, please!
Let's say it's someone's birthday. Or an important day that calls for a celebration. A day of achievement. Whatever. You might want to gift something to them. While you figure out things that you can buy as gifts, here is a list of things that you are better off not gifting to anyone.
I mean, yes, you can get away with gifting some of these to people close to you, but for people you are not on pretty informal terms with, you might want to avoid these:

    1. Perfumes/Deodorants- This thing tops the list because it is gifted to people so frequently, but it's not exactly a good idea. I mean, come to think of it. Why would you gift perfumes to someone? Because they don't smell good? Perfumes are great gifts as long as you have to gift something to someone. If you really want your gifts to be thoughtful, don't do it.
    2. Showpieces- Again, tell me why. No doubt showpieces look beautiful but after a few days, I might not even notice such things kept somewhere, supposedly kept to gather my attention.
The only time I would recall its presence is when I would be cleaning my house. They get dirty, too, y'know? And then, they lose their beauty. Not really a nice idea.
    3. Regifting- There are days when some people are given something they realise they would never need. Do you want to know what some of those people do? They gift it to someone else. Regifting. Happens. More than you think. Most inconsiderate thing ever!
Plus, what if, just what if, the recipient knows that you had been gifted the gift that you are gifting them! Save yourself the embarrassment. Don't do it.
    4. Pets- Let's get serious here for once. As much as I love animals and would love pets, let me put one thing out there very clearly. Animals, are living beings, just like you and me.
Fostering them is a responsibility, and a pretty difficult one, emotionally, physically and financially. Keeping animals as pets has to be done after you have all the scenarios clear in your head. And gifting animals, especially as a surprise gift, is the worst thing you can ever do. Don't do such things on a whim.
    5. Flowers- Bouquets. Don't. I mean, why would you? I know, bouquets are very popular as gifts but it is one of the many thoughtless gifts that are on this list. Giving a bouquet makes it clear that you were not interested in this whole process of gifting but you had to. Also, gifting fake flowers. Bad idea.
    6. A ticket to travel, especially for a long journey, especially as a surprise- If you want me out of your sight for good, gift me such tickets. But maybe, I wouldn't leave so easily and you wouldn't like your gift being wasted. So you have to compel me to go, too.
    7. Souvenirs- Now, gifting to someone such things, that are found nowhere else but at a place you visited is one thing. Gifting them souvenirs is another. Souvenirs are memoirs of places. You visited the place, so if someone has to have memoirs, it's you, not someone else. I don't know what crosses their minds when they gift souvenirs of places they have visited to others, though.
    8. Clothes- Giving away clothes as gifts much bigger or smaller in size than required isn't something you would sign up for. Why not just avoid it? Don't get into gifting clothes unless you're sure if the clothes would fit well.
So these were all those general things that you should avoid gifting to someone. Try knowing the preferences of people before gifting things. It is always better than giving away things that help no one. Your gifts are meant to depict your feelings and thoughts for them. Make sure your gifts show what you think of them.

All That We Say But Never Mean

Let's start by saying that this is going to be a complete fun blog with absolutely no resemblance to reality........ kidding. The only truth is that it is going to be fun.
There are times when you are expected to say things people expect you to say, irrespective of whether you mean it or not. Presenting to you, some of those gems.
    1. What is said: Hey, how are you?
The truth: Now that I might look like I care about your well-being, don't be eluded. I don't care. I just have to keep this conversation going.

      2. What is said: Follow your passion.
The truth: Get a well-paid job. You better like it, too.
    3. What is said: I don't care about others' opinions. My life, my rules.
The truth: I care too much about what others think about me, assure myself that they are wrong, and validate myself that I don't care about anyone's opinions.
    4. What is said: Looks don't matter.
The truth: Check stats. The massive fashion industry speaks for itself and there is a crystal-clear reason for that.
    5. What is said: I haven't seen you in forever.
The truth: Unless you are a ghost, you are wrong.
    6. What is said: Correct me if I am wrong, but, ...
The truth: I KNOW I AM NOT WRONG. NO, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY THAT THIS CONVERSATION CAN GO.
Exaggerating, am I? Maybe. Most probably. Yes. The truth? Let's leave that for you to figure out!
So here I am back with a new post that speaks of all the things that we say but all of us know we don't mean them. Just in case you are someone who says these things only when you mean them, hello, nice to meet you. I am a Homo Sapien, what are you?
    Bad joke. Sorry.
