Those Were The Days

Those Were The Days

Monday morning. A day when one would be expected to be awake early morning. No, not me. I got up at 9 a.m. The bliss of getting up late, with no plans for the day, is in the least, unexplainable.

Yes, it was a Monday morning. How can I have nothing to do on a weekday, you ask? I had just passed my 12th standard board exams. You know the kind of holiday you crave for, every day at work? Yeah, that was the vacation I got for three-and-a-half months.

This was the 2nd month of holiday, with me aimlessly moving around the house completely uselessly. There were days when I would explore what I am good at. Cooking, drawing, and sorts. Other days, I would be found cleaning my room, and sorts. Other days, nothing. Just me and my phone, or a book, killing time.

The day started well, with me trying to recall my hobbies. The last two years had brutally murdered my hobbies. Besides, to think that I had the ideal free-time I had always wished for was, in itself, pleasantly overwhelming.

In a condition where I had nothing to do, I started recalling all that I would have been doing if I had been still in school. Getting up at 6 a.m. was something I hated, but now I felt those were the better days. Going to school, be it in the scorching heat of summers, or in the terrible rains, or struggling through the gusty winds in winters, I despised it all. Attending all classes when I clearly didn't like it was irritating. Doing homework, do I even need to explain the trouble of doing them or more trouble of not doing them? (the punishments, duh!) Yet, there I was, longing to do it all over again. However, life continues.

Life goes on, come what may.

There can be no better way of making someone understand the meaning of this one sentence without letting him or her experience it himself or herself.

School life is blissful. Enjoy your school life when you can because however much you don't like going to school, you will miss everything about it once you walk out of it. Life, in general, is going to take magical turns and twists after your school life ends. Do not forget to enjoy them, too.

Keep Smiling!😊
